The Minnesota Vikings have became a Minnesota sensation in 1961, thus the Viking fan was born. Since then, the Minnesota Vikings fanbase community has grown into something special. These Vikings fans are die-hard fans who take everything about the game serious.

Theylive and die by the pigskin. Every play, every down. The fans will be watching. I don't know if I've ever seen any other fans this passionate about one team.

Then again, I haven't really been anywhere else to see which fan base is more passionate about their team. I can garuntee though that this will change. I too, am a Minnesota Vikings fan. This is my community. We are a tight group with one thing in common: our love for our football team, the Minnesota Vikings.

Ever since the arrival of future Hall of Fame Quarterback Brett Favre to the Vikings, the fan base has been alive with excitment. The day of his arrival at Winter Park, where the team practices, is no exception. On August 18th, 2009, undreds of fans lined the street, waiting for Favre's arrival, and hoping to see a glimpse of the Viknings' newest QB.

It was a frenzy when coach Brad Childress' Escelade arrived. Fans surrounded the car, like the president was in town. Well, this was the Vikings new president, the savior destined to lead the Vikes to a Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl is a dicey word, here in Minney. Let's just get it out in the open. We've been to FOUR Super Bowls and won ZERO Super Bowls! And any Vikings fan will tell you, 1998 "was OUR year". However, a missed 51 yard field goal by Vikings' kicker Gary Anderson turned into a golden 51 yard wining kick by the other team... the Atlanta Falcons to beat the Vikings in the NFC Championship.

That WAS our year.

But now the past is behind us, the Minnesota Vikings have begun a new season, and are riding a 34-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns in week 1. What the Vikings community is REALLY buzzing about is their Pro-Bowl running back, the best in the NFL, Adrian Peterson running all over the Browns with 180-yards & 3Touchdowns.

His last run, was a single player dominating three Browns defenders, including one who got slapped out of bounds by a determined Peterson on his way to a 64-yard touchdown.
Fans are all about their new quarterback, and you will see many "#4 Favre" jerseys around town and at game day parties, but Sunday was Adrian's day. Single Handidly.

So what is there to learn about the Vikings community entering the weekend, and approaching the Vikings week 2 matchup against NFC North Division rival, the Detroit Lions?

This has become one of the most watched Vikings seasons in team history and now is in the spot light of the NFL nation. Favre had something to do with that. But this year, Vikings have come out in force, to show their pride for their beloved Vikings. This fanbase is stronger then ever, and new fans are being born everday.

So for a team in need of a Super Bowl and a new NFL stadium, this year just got a whole lot better, and there is more to come!

Blogging-You Can Do It Too!

Blogging has become a world-wide sensation, and almost every one who has a computer, has heard of blogging.

Today it's a way to let your voice be heard around the world, and is even used by sports and news brodacaster, actors, athletes, etc. It's used by every one!

I think you would enjoy it, quite a bit. You can pretty much write about anything, and I mean anything! You have something on your mind? Blog about it.

I've seen a lot of blogs that are basically people's ideas coming out of their head and onto paper...okay computer!

If you like sports, as I do, blog about your favorite team. I plan to write about my favorite football team, the Minnesota Vikings and the NFL. Hey maybe this is the first start to becoming a sports radio broadcaster? Who knows?

But I'm telling you blogging is a new, fun, feature added to the Internet that let's people express their thoughts and readers to check out and give their word on it.

That's another thing I like about blogging is the fact that you can meet tons of people who may share the same ideas and oppions you do. Or you may find somebody who wants to debate with you.

It litterally brings you that much closer to someone who may be on the other side of the world.
